We ended up at the stand more or less by chance, actually on our way to the coffee bar. We stayed because someone took the time to hear out our question about aftercare instead of pressing a leaflet into our hands. The explanation was easy to follow without being condescending, and when we asked about the cost we got a clear figure rather than an it-depends. What we also appreciated was that nobody tried to sell us something we would not have needed. We were even actively advised against one of the more expensive options, because in our case it would not have made any difference. After a good twenty minutes we had a realistic picture of what lies ahead, which appointments are necessary and what would tell us that something was not going to plan. In the end we booked an appointment, even though that was not at all what we had come for. Next time we would come back on purpose.

How it differs from the wall QR code

A wall QR code checks against your business address — at a trade fair that fails. The event QR code carries its own location inside the signed code and is valid only during the period you set in advance. After that it accepts nothing.

What makes the review count

An event review is signed on site and timestamped in the Bitcoin blockchain just like any other. Only the reference point of the location check is different.

And because the occasion is shown on the review, the claim “on site” can be checked by anyone — a fair that never happened stands out.

The rules, stated plainly

Available from the Classic plan, with no surcharge per event.
One event per calendar week, seven days at most.
Plannable up to a year ahead — the code accepts reviews only from the first day onwards.
The venue must be at least 500 metres from your business address. Right outside your own door is not an event; the wall QR code is there for that.
